Native Tomato

Native Tomato

This photo was taken on Ngemba country (if you have the traditional name for this resource please contact us).

The Native tomato grows well among arid country throughout Australia particularly   the Ngemba country - Far West New South Wales.

This sweet savory tasteful tomato can be eaten as found, picked straight from the bush and was a highly sought out treat from the young fullas of the clans when in season.

Other uses for this fruit even today are used as stuffing (with emu cook ups, fish cooking and kangaroo stews) or as a refreshing taste within a salad.

Unsure exactly of the precise details to when these come into season however this photo was taken in late June and were tastefully ripe.
